BAUMA 2025 Recap: Stern Technic and the future of trenchless construction 🚀

BAUMA 2025 was an absolute highlight for us! We had great conversations, incredibly positive feedback on our compact devices, and an incredible amount of fun participating at BAUMA for the first time.

The trade fair once again demonstrated the major challenges facing the construction industry. Climate change, increasing urbanization, and demographic change pose enormous challenges, particularly in the area of infrastructure.



In our presentation at BAUMA, we highlighted three key global developments:


  • Climate change: Traditional construction methods cause significant greenhouse gas emissions and are a burden on the environment and climate.

  • Urbanization: Increasingly dense cities can no longer be burdened by traditional open construction methods, as they severely impact traffic, trade and quality of life.

  • Demographic change: By the next decade, approximately 40% of construction workers worldwide will retire, creating a massive shortage of skilled workers.


At the same time, the market for trenchless construction methods is growing enormously: In 2023, the market volume already reached $4.4 billion – and by 2030, it is expected to exceed $7.5 billion , representing annual growth of over 7% . It's clear: innovative solutions are in demand.





Our solutions: BOB and BUDDEL

Stern Technic presented two revolutionary solutions at BAUMA:


BOB – The autonomous drilling robot:
